Places to Visit
Help me build this website. Got a good place to eat or stay, know a good walk/cycle route? Drop me a email with the details and I will add it to the site.
Bakewell
In the heart of the Peak District Bakewell has to be worth a long visit. Take ti e to view the many shops and when your feet ache take a break in one of the many cafe's and tea shops.

Bolsover Castle
At the far North East tip of Derbyshire Bolsover Castle is in my opinion the most spectacular castle in Derbyshire.
Location: Between Jct 29 & 30 of the M1, follow signs for Bolsover village.

  Calke Abbey

Carsington Water
A beautifully quiet yet busy water park. Take a gentle stroll or cycle round the water or just picnic. Cafe with excellent food and a kids play area.
Location: Between Ashbourne & Matlock.
  Castleton Caverns

Chatsworth House
This house defines grandeur and style. Take time to visit the house and the gardens. A full day out.
Location: 3 miles from Bakewell, between Rowsley & Pilsley.
  Haddon Hall

Hardwick Hall
Two magnificent halls offering plenty to see inside and outside. The old hall is just a shell but still well worth a visit, take the headphone guided tour in the old hall and the escorted tour in the new hall.
Location: Situated 5 minutes from junction 29 of the M1, take the A6175 then first left following signs to house.
  Heights of Abraham

Ladybower Reservoir
A perfect place to take it easy, to fish or walk. Parking can be difficult in high seasons so grab the first spot you see.
